    The curtain has fallen on another outstanding Heathland Golf Classic, and after three days of exceptional golf across some of England’s finest heathland courses, Mike Hammond and Paul Fenton of Wath Golf Club have been crowned the 2026 Heathland Golf Classic Champions.

    The event once again visited three iconic venues – Hollinwell, Sherwood Forest and Lindrick – providing competitors with a true test of skill, strategy and consistency. Throughout the tournament, the scoring was remarkably close, with the overall leaderboard changing continuously and the outcome remaining uncertain until the final groups completed their rounds at Hollinwell.

    In one of the closest finishes in the event’s history, Mike Hammond and Paul Fenton secured the title with an impressive total of 127 points, narrowly edging out Phil Day and Luke Cornwell on countback after both teams finished on the same score.

    The strength of the field was evident throughout the leaderboard, with just a single point separating the top five teams after 54 holes of competition.

    The 2026 event continued the tradition of competitive golf, outstanding hospitality and excellent course presentation that has become synonymous with the Heathland Golf Classic. Feedback from competitors throughout the week was overwhelmingly positive, with all three host venues receiving praise for the quality of their courses and the welcome extended to players.

    The organisers would like to thank all competitors, volunteers, staff and sponsors who helped make this year’s event such a success. Special thanks go to Ping, whose support of the Heathland Golf Classic has been there from the very beginning and continues to play a significant role in the growth of the tournament.

    With another memorable chapter written in the history of the Heathland Golf Classic, attention now turns to 2027. The dates have already been confirmed, with the event returning to:

    • Hollinwell – 9th June 2027
    • Sherwood Forest – 10th June 2027
    • Lindrick – 11th June 2027

    Entries for the 2027 Heathland Golf Classic will open in November 2026, and after another highly competitive and successful tournament, demand is expected to be stronger than ever.

    What a fantastic conclusion to the Heathland Golf Classic 2026.

    The final day at Hollinwell provided a fitting finish to this year’s event, with exceptional scoring throughout the field and an overall leaderboard that remained incredibly tight right up until the final groups completed their rounds. With so many teams still in contention, it truly came down to the wire and made for a thrilling finish to another memorable Heathland Classic.

    A huge thank you to Hollinwell for presenting the course in superb condition and providing a stern but fair test for all competitors.

    Following another fantastic edition of the Heathland Golf Classic, we are delighted to announce the dates for the 2027 event.

    The Heathland Golf Classic 2027 will once again visit three of the finest heathland golf courses in the United Kingdom:

    Tuesday 9th June 2027 – Hollinwell (Notts Golf Club)
    Wednesday 10th June 2027 – Sherwood Forest Golf Club
    Thursday 11th June 2027 – Lindrick Golf Club

    Since its inception, the Heathland Golf Classic has continued to grow in popularity, attracting golfers from across the country who are looking to experience championship golf courses, first-class hospitality and friendly competition over three memorable days.

    The 2026 event has once again showcased everything that makes the tournament special, with outstanding support from our host venues, sponsors and competitors. We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in helping the event continue to grow year after year.

    Entries for the 2027 Heathland Golf Classic will officially open in November 2026.

    Day 2 of the Heathland Golf Classic took competitors to the magnificent Lindrick Golf Club, host venue of the 1957 Ryder Cup and one of England’s finest championship courses.

    Players were greeted with another superbly presented golf course and conditions that provided a fantastic test of strategy, shot-making and teamwork.

    With the leaderboard beginning to take shape, every point was crucial as competitors battled for daily honours and positioned themselves ahead of the final round at Hollinwell.

    Round 2 of the 2025 Heathland Classic concluded in style at the stunning Hollinwell, with competitors taking full advantage of the excellent conditions to produce some truly exceptional scoring.

    Top Performers of the Day:

    🥇 Roy Sammons & James Sammons led the field with a superb 47 points, showcasing consistency and teamwork throughout the round.
    🥈 Matt Crawley & Greg Crawley were hot on their heels, carding an impressive 46 points to secure second place.
    🥉 Paul Margison & Stuart Lodge, Bill Stroud & Steve Turner, David Wilson & Stuart McClure, and Shush Chatterjee & Iain Mackenzie all finished with strong scores of 44 points, taking 3rd to 6th place respectively on countback.

    Round 1 of the Heathland Classic got underway at the prestigious Lindrick Golf Club, where players were treated to a superb day of golf on one of the region’s finest courses.

    Leading the field after a strong opening performance are David Wilson & Stuart McClure from Hallamshire, carding an impressive 42 points to top the leaderboard.

    Places 2nd to 6th were tightly contested, with just a single point separating them and final positions decided by countback.

    2nd Place: Michael Robinson & Graham Robinson (Garforth) – 41 pts

    3rd Place: Paul Margison (Manor Country Club, USA) & Stuart Lodge (Paris, France) – 41 pts
