Wath Golf Club Pair Crowned Heathland Golf Classic 2026 Champions
The curtain has fallen on another outstanding Heathland Golf Classic, and after three days of exceptional golf across some of England’s finest heathland courses, Mike Hammond and Paul Fenton of Wath Golf Club have been crowned the 2026 Heathland Golf Classic Champions.
The event once again visited three iconic venues – Hollinwell, Sherwood Forest and Lindrick – providing competitors with a true test of skill, strategy and consistency. Throughout the tournament, the scoring was remarkably close, with the overall leaderboard changing continuously and the outcome remaining uncertain until the final groups completed their rounds at Hollinwell.
In one of the closest finishes in the event’s history, Mike Hammond and Paul Fenton secured the title with an impressive total of 127 points, narrowly edging out Phil Day and Luke Cornwell on countback after both teams finished on the same score.
The strength of the field was evident throughout the leaderboard, with just a single point separating the top five teams after 54 holes of competition.
